DecrimQLD film premiere
Those of you who follow me on Twitter know that I tweet a lot about the DecrimQLD campaign. However, if you’re not in the social media loop, here’s a little more information from their Twitter bio:
“We are a committee of sex workers working towards decriminalisation in QLD, Australia.”.
If you would like to learn more about why decriminalisation is important to sex workers, I encourage you to follow @DecrimQLD, @DecrimNY, and @DecrimNow. You can also read more about the Queensland campaign from the Respect Inc website
Working alongside DecrimQLD, we created a short film called 30 Years Waiting. The film features footage from a recent rally, and gives audiences some history on the fight for sex worker rights in Queensland. 30 Years Waiting will be screening at the Sex Worker Film & Arts Festival in San Francisco.
30 Years Waiting will be playing on Saturday May 25th as part of the 6:25pm session at The Roxie cinema. The session is entitled “Decrim, Dignity and Other Tales of Hope and Resistance“. However, the whole day is a Sex Worker Movie Marathon, and it’s definitely work attending the whole event. There are also a number of other events on during the week, so be sure to check out the entire festival line-up HERE.
